Tell us about your work experience and we'll handle the rest. We guide you through every step of the QWE sign-off process — from working out which competencies apply, to preparing your evidence, to SRA confirmation. Free of charge until your evidence is approved.
Before any payment is due, every candidate receives:
If your employer doesn't have a solicitor who can confirm your Qualifying Work Experience, you may need an independent external solicitor to review and confirm it. QWE Confirmed provides exactly this service — but more than that, we guide you through the entire process from start to finish.
Most candidates come to us unsure whether their experience qualifies, uncertain about which competencies are relevant, and unclear on what evidence they need to provide. That's completely normal — and it's exactly what we're here to help with. You tell us about your work experience, and we take it from there. We review your situation, explain which competencies from the SRA's Statement of Solicitor Competence apply, provide a tailored training record template, and give you detailed written guidance on preparing your evidence.
Our confirming solicitor has genuine in-house corporate and commercial experience and understands the breadth of legal work that happens outside traditional law firm settings — in-house legal teams, compliance functions, corporate governance roles, overseas legal departments, and organisations where the day-to-day supervisor is not an English-qualified solicitor. Every candidate receives personalised guidance by email, and we aim to respond to every message within 24 hours.
Fill in our short form with your background and a description of your work experience. That's all we need to get started — no competency selection, no sign-up, no payment.
Within 24 hours, we respond with a personalised assessment: which competencies apply to your experience, what evidence you'll need, and a tailored training record template with detailed instructions.
You prepare your evidence with our guidance. Our solicitor reviews it, provides feedback, and contacts your workplace supervisor. You only pay once we've confirmed everything meets the SRA's requirements.
You submit your QWE through mySRA using our solicitor's details. The SRA contacts our solicitor directly to confirm. Typically completed within a few days.
Every tier includes the same thorough process: personalised assessment, competency mapping, evidence guidance, full review, supervisor verification, and SRA confirmation coordination. The only variable is the number of competencies — and we determine which tier applies after reviewing your experience.
No. Your initial assessment, competency mapping, evidence guidance, training record template, and all email communication is provided free of charge. You only pay once we have reviewed your evidence and confirmed that it meets the SRA's requirements. There is no upfront payment and no obligation at any stage.
No — and this is an important part of what we do. After you tell us about your work experience, we review it and explain which competencies from the SRA's Statement of Solicitor Competence are relevant to your situation. You don't need to make this decision yourself. We handle the competency mapping for you, free of charge.
Where a candidate's employer does not have a solicitor or COLP who can confirm their QWE, the SRA permits an independent solicitor of England & Wales to review and confirm it externally. QWE Confirmed provides this service — and we guide you through every step.
There is no additional charge. Whether the competencies being verified were gained in one placement or four, the fee is determined solely by the number of competencies. This is a key difference from other providers who charge per placement.
You do not need to pay until we have confirmed that your experience and evidence meets the SRA's requirements. Our solicitor will review your submission and, if any additional evidence is needed, will provide written guidance — all before any payment is taken.
We aim to respond to every email within 24 hours, including initial assessments. Although the service is handled entirely online, you'll receive personalised, detailed written guidance — not generic templates. You can email us with questions at any point in the process and we will always get back to you promptly.
Absolutely — and this is a particular strength of QWE Confirmed. Our solicitor has genuine in-house corporate experience and is well-placed to verify QWE gained in non-traditional settings such as in-house legal teams, compliance departments, corporate governance roles, law clinics, and overseas legal departments — including where the supervisor is not an English-qualified solicitor.
Yes. QWE can be obtained anywhere in the world, provided it involved providing legal services. QWE Confirmed regularly works with candidates based outside England & Wales.
Yes. Retrospective QWE is permitted by the SRA. The key requirement is that sufficient records exist to evidence the work and that a supervisor from that time can provide feedback.
This depends on how quickly you can prepare your evidence, but the process typically takes between two and six weeks from start to finish. There is no fixed deadline — you work at your own pace, and we are available by email throughout to answer questions and provide guidance.
